About: A Further Look At The Forge
Jim Hartman's Forge LLC is a small workshop dedicated to the art of ornamental blacksmithing, decorative metalworking, and most of all having fun.
It is also home to the Viking Forge Society, which is dedicated to learning the art of blacksmithing. |
For those wanting to know more about me, and the work that I produce:
- I descend from a distinct line of metal workers and blacksmiths
- I am a member of ABANA(The American Blacksmith's Association of North America)
- I am a member of the FABA(Florida Artist's Blacksmith Association)
- I am a member of the Perry-Taylor County Chamber of Commerce
- I have served tenure as President of the Taylor County Art Guild
- I am a Galleried Artist in Watercolor Art as well as metalwork
- I have a background in Engineering and Architecture both in High School and College, and was the first in my class to work at an Architectural Firm and as an Architectural Draftsman in the housing industry.

Hartman Descendency of Metalworkers, Mechanics, Blacksmiths, and Railroad Workers
While the list below does not make any claim to inherited skill, I think it is interesting. As geneaology is a hobby of mine, it was interesting in digging through my family tree, to find those engaged in occupations that involved mechanical and metal working skills that are in my immediate line of descendency. I am sure more will be added to this page as time goes on and I learn even more. |

Genealogy: A Hobby
A hobby that I began back in 1987 was that of researching my family tree. Since that time, I have been able to take the family lines in some cases back to the 1500's. I have made many friends, and met many distantly related cousins that I never knew that I had. I am grateful to many for sharing their infomration with me.
